Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda area, offering subscriptions to the armed forces‘ magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance authorities, the police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
