Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to fake magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you sense you have been targeted by someone who,
