Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area to Trick Business Owners

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
