Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal officers.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be careful and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,

has money, and then disappears.
