Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Recognizing frauds

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just call 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
