Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when telephoning hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those with no connection to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
