Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Outfit Offers Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the arm.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, on different occasions, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
