Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Phone Calls to Fraudulent Subscribers

Pretending to be Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear and do not show up again.
