Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Phone Fraud Schemes

They pretend to be Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
