Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region for Fraudulent Magazine Offers

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions of the force.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately alert the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
