Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region to Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining the money, disappear.
