Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region to Promote Fake Magazines

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing the Scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, stay vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
