Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region to Trick Locals

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the army.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire department, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
