Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Seek Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Comune’s firefighting service.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, no longer make themselves visible.
