Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making telephone contact with hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance, police, fire brigade, or Comune authorities.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the Carabinieri— just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, no longer make an appearance.
