Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Targeting Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and do not return.
