Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining the money, disappear.
