Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions
Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.
Identifying the scams
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.
Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri—simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
has money, and then disappears.
