Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They are breaking into Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, no longer shows up.
