Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

Detecting scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
