Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These individuals are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to fake magazines or ones that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply call 112 — as soon as you suspect you are targeted by those who,

if they are after money, will cease contact and disappear.
