Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire department, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone,

who, having obtained money, disappears and is no longer seen.
