Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pretend to be Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to arms magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
