Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance sector, police, fire brigade, or even the Municipality police.
How to recognize scams
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,
if they had money, would not show themselves again.
