Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, fire brigade, or Municipal guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or issues unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
