Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army’s magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be careful and immediately inform the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
