Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

after obtaining money, disappears without a trace.
