Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

having obtained money, no longer make themselves visible.
