Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have no connection to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately inform the real Carabinieri—simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by those who, after getting the money, disappear.
