Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after collecting the money, disappear without a trace.
