Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Publications to Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to their publications.

These are not law enforcement officers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
