Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Subscriptions in Garda Areas

Pretending to be Carabinieri, individuals contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda by phone, offering subscriptions to military publications.

These are not actual military personnel but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Comune (Municipal Police).

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
