Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Targeting Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
