Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately alert the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the payment, disappear.
