Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs around Lake Garda, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, police, firefighters, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those with no connection to law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
