Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions
Pretending to be Carabinieri when telephone contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.
How to recognize scams and how to react
They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to the authorities.
Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the actual Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
have money and no longer show themselves.
