Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering magazine subscriptions from the army.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or local police authorities.
How to recognize scams
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
if they require money, do not show themselves again.
