Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They make calls claiming to be Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

However, they are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police force, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
