Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the forces’ magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you’ve been targeted by individuals who,

would have money, and then disappear.
