Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire department, or Municipality guards.
How to Recognize Scams
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.
Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
if they demand money, no longer appear on the scene.
