Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Area Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire department, or the municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
