Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately warn the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
