Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These individuals are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
