Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, if they had money, do not show themselves again.
