They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or Comune wardens.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
