Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses
They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone contact with hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.
Recognizing scams
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,
has money, but no longer shows themselves.
