Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or Comune police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have become target to individuals who,

if they are after money, no longer show themselves.
