Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipal Police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or names that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
