Scammers Impersonate Law Enforcement in Garda Region to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigades, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

So, be attentive and immediately notify the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
