Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to the forces magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality‘s police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
